For Baby, Meditate

Posted On: November 24, 2009

Research from Israel shows women who cope with the stress of infertility treatment by relinquishing control are nearly twice as likely to get pregnant as those who don’t adopt this strategy.

Possibly, this is because there is increasing evidence that stress and emotional distress can influence the success of in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Evidence on the effects of other psychological factors has been inconclusive.

Techniques like meditation, which is focused on teaching people to “let go,” could help improve a woman’s chances of getting pregnant.
