Posted On: February 20, 2010

One in three Taiwanese women would marry other men if they were given a second chance in life, according to a survey of 1,076 married people conducted by the private Millennium Cultural and Educational Foundation.

But only 17 per cent of Taiwanese men would swap their wives for new ones. The foundation, which promotes family values, warned of a growing “infidelity crisis” as 9.1 per cent of the couples interviewed reported having been through extramarital affairs.

Taiwan’s divorce rate has been increasing annually in the past decade to 11.1 per cent in 2008, according to the latest government figures.
