I don’t know Genie Chuo but I was impressed with the interview she gave about how she straddles her femininity and ‘girly’ outlook with the masculine and independence within her.
I have sometimes felt at odds with being female and being strong inside.
“Girls shouldn’t say things like that.”
“You know, you shouldn’t be talking like that. You’re a girl.”
Says who? Society? Asian culture? You?
It is refreshing and powerful for women to be and express their comfort with who they are – and to embrace their feminine and masculine side.
And it is important that all of us – men and women – do not make people feel bad for who they are. There is enough negativity and judgment as it is.
