Pleasure Salon Singapore

The original Pleasure Salon was founded in New York as a way to allow for a sex-positive community to materialize. Chapters in Chicago and Melbourne have since followed suit.

Pleasure Salon Singapore intends to do the same. We want to pave the ground for a sex-positive network and create an open exchange of ideas about sex, in a society where talking about sex is non-existent and/or taboo. We want to encourage healthy discussions surrounding sex and sexuality, in a safe space while embracing the principles of respect, tolerance, acceptance, openness, and non-judgmental support for one another.

Everyone is welcome. There is no dress code. Together we can exchange passions, thoughts, ideas, feelings, experiences, knowledge, information, creative expression, art and anything else that happens to inspire, engage or educate around the theme of sexuality.

Ye Ruoshi, 38, is an artist who suffered from Vaginismus. For eight years, she couldn’t consummate her marriage with her husband. Through sheer perseverance and with the understandings and support she got from her husband, they manage to overcome the problem and have three kids.

Ruoshi knows that many women are suffering from Vaginismus. Been an ex-sufferer, she understands the plight of these women. She is willing to share her journey from pain to pleasure, and insights about union in the bedroom.

Marla Bendini, 26, is an artist, performer and visionary. She has been living as a transsexual woman since 2007. She is non-op (that is, she made a choice not to undergo sexual reassignment surgery) and plans to stay that way. Her decision and ideas has sparked questions about gender expression and identity, and also her place in the transgender community and largely in a society that only enables post-operative transsexual people to change the legal gender on their identity cards, passport and other legal documents.

In this session of Pleasure Salon, Marla will talk about her experiences as a trans-woman who is comfortable with her male genitalia and to a larger extent, discuss the attitudes towards one’s sexual organs.

From Bondage To Liberation

Shamala Tan will be sharing her story of being involved in an abusive relationship including being date raped by her then boyfriend. And how it affected her self esteem and her journey from being dependent on alcohol to becoming a life and business coach. Shamala Tan is an intuitive life coach with expertise in helping others to find and realize their life’s purpose. She is known as the “Life Purpose Markswoman”, as she is always right on target. Her area of specialty is assisting people in their 30s and 40s who are relatively successful in the corporate world to find their life’s passion.
