Welcome to Love, Sex, and Everything In-Between! My name is Martha. I’m a sexologist, and I am playing Princess Know-It-All. The theme of this month is Patience.
Have you set you 2014 goals? What are your needs, wants and desires? When creating goals, there are five things that you need to be thinking about. The first one is S for Specific, followed by M Measurable, A for achievable, R for realistic, and T for time bound. I think these words are completely self-explanatory when it comes to creating goals that are SMART.
So I do have this little exercise that has 21 questions when it comes to goal setting for this year, and I hope that this can be useful for you. Last year, I created a goal of reading 52 books and watching 52 DVDs. At around the halfway mark of last year, I achieved more than 52 books and at that time, I readjusted my goal to reading 104 books. So I doubled it and I actually achieved it as well. So by the time it reached December, I have actually read about 140 over books. And this year, my goal is to read 200 books.
But I would not have known that I actually achieved those goals if I actually didn’t document it, and I was really doing it for fun and then really going a hit to challenging myself to do just that bit more, not because I had to, but because I really wanted to, and it became a game for me.
So this year, what would be the things that you would really like to do? And when you start documenting it and you start seeing the results, maybe at some point, you may want to adjust it. So with that, I would like to encourage you to do this little homework that I have for you when it comes to 21 questions to asking yourself to goal setting for this year.
