Even though her first degree was in mass communication and she worked in corporate communications for many years, Dr. Martha Tara found herself on a journey of self discovery and realisation that transcended her original career. She will share how personal life and work life became interwoven for her and how she came to be a sexologist, thereby creating a new “profession” for herself and becoming Singapore’s only sexologist and only certified sexuality educator (by AASECT – American American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapist). She will speak of her trials and tribulations and why she will continue to grab life by the balls. The intent of this seminar is to inspire participants to examine life in all its facets, to embrace and live life fully and fearlessly just as she has. This is not a sexuality education session but sexuality related questions are welcomed.

Attend the Launch of Eco Sex Singapore Campaign! – Free event

Eco Sex Singapore is an online campaign which will run 23 March (Earth Hour) to 22 April (International Mother Earth Day) 2013.

Earth Day originally celebrated at Spring Equinox around March 20, is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment. Now Earth Day is coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year. In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day is planned for April 22 in all years at least through 2015. It recognizes that “the Earth and its ecosystems are our home” and that “it is necessary to promote harmony with nature and the Earth.” The term Mother Earth is used because it “reflects the interdependence that exists among human beings, other living species and the planet we all inhabit”.

Eco Sex campaign’s message is about sustainable living by going green between the sheets and outside of the bedroom. The month brings attention to our relationship with our bodies. Besides addressing what you can do to feel good about yourself, it also highlights positive self-care habits, and includes being savvy about the purchase of personal care items including sex toys and lubricants.

We will be selling this seashell arrangement at $10 in support of Blooms of Hope, a project under Reach Family Service Centre. This project has a social cause to promote financial self-reliance among low income women.

About the Host

Dr Martha Lee is Founder and Clinical Sexologist of Eros Coaching. She is a certified sexologist with ACS (American College of Sexologists), as well as a certified sexuality educator with AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists). Martha holds a Doctorate in Human Sexuality as well as Certificates in Sex Therapy, Practical Counselling and Life Coaching. She was recognised as one of ‘Top 50 Inspiring Women under 40′ by Her World Singapore in July 2010 and ‘Top 100 Inspiring Women by CozyCot Singapore in March 2011. More here.

About the Meditation Facilitator

Lim Seow Yuin graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology. Seow Yuin has been active in community work, with over five years of experience in the non-profit sector. Seow Yuin has also conducted career guidance workshops, facilitated one-to-one career counselling, mentored secondary students and befriended patients in hospitals. Currently a Programme Associate with a local foundation, she has expertise in project management, administration, strategic planning and business model evaluation. Mindful living is her motto and she hopes to communicate an attitude of gratitude.
