Sharinder Kaur holds a Master’s in Counselling from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. She is a registered clinical member of Singapore Association of Counselling, and an associate member of Transactional Analysis Singapore. She has attained practitioner certifications for Transactional Analysis (TAP) from USATAA, Brainspotting from Brainspotting AustralAsia Pacific, and Choice Theory and Reality Therapy from William Glasser Institute. She is an accredited facilitator for the Prepare & Enrich marriage preparation and enrichment programme, as well as The Good Enough Parenting professional training. She also has completed her Professional Certificate in Sexuality Education with Dr. Martha Tara Lee.
Prior to officially joining the counselling field, Sharinder was providing social-emotional and behavioural support to students as an educator. She has over 12 years of experience in supporting young minds to grow and thrive. Sharinder’s expertise spans across various age groups, including teens, adults, and parents. Sharinder works with clients on emotional regulations, personal development, stress management, motivation, grief and loss, trauma, conflict resolution, anxiety, sexual concerns, relationship and communication skills. Sharinder also works with parents to support them in healing and improving their relationship with their child. She provides trauma-informed care. She is currently working towards her certification in Compassionate Inquiry.
Sharinder’s approach to therapy includes mind-body-based skills. She uses a range of modalities: person-centered, Transactional Analysis, CTRT, Brainspotting, and breathwork in her practice. She is also LGBTQ+ affirmative and believes in supporting all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation and history to live their best life through self- acceptance and self-empowerment. She hopes to help her clients shift from a survival mindset to a thriving mindset by navigating the journey of life with confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset. She is a firm believer in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment so that her clients can receive the necessary support for their wellbeing.
As a new mom, Sharinder has pivoted her practice and provides counselling support virtually so that she can better balance the demands of motherhood whilst still pursuing her passion for providing empathic support to her clients. She is available for appointments from Mondays to Wednesdays from 11 am – 6 pm (SGT). Sharinder is a trauma-informed practitioner, equipped with the tools to guide you beyond traditional talk therapy. She utilises various modalities to support clients, including Brain Spotting, Transactional Analysis, Choice Theory and Reality Therapy. Sharinder is also a facilitator for Enrich/Prepare marriage preparatory courses and The Good Enough Parenting program.
Sharinder has trained under Dr. Martha Tara Lee, Singapore’s clinical sexologist and relationship counsellor, to support couples and individuals with sexual concerns and is an advocate for positive sexuality too.
