♾ What inspired EVOLVE FEST into being? ♾
All life on earth shares a universal common ancestor. For the past 3.5+ billion years, that one life has continued to evolve as patterns of our biodiversity have been shaped and reshaped, forming variations of new species, changes within our species, and loss of species throughout the evolutionary history of earth.
As we shift and change biologically we are also going through massive changes relationally. We are adapting to our new and constantly changing environment through the way we relate to one another as an ever-evolving species. We are simply not designed to stay the same or maintain some sort of status quo. As humanity continues to move through it’s latest shift as a global culture we would like to create a time to make space to not only acknowledge but encourage this process of becoming better human beings through our capacity to evolve relationally.
It’s not a surprise to any of us that if we want to continue to not only survive, but also thrive, as a species in harmony with this planet we must come together in love and solidarity. In order to do that, we need to look at the ways we relate, our relationship to trauma, fear and violence and what we can do to coexist in cooperation and unity with one another– not despite but in celebration of the way our species has and will continue to evolve forming new variations to our original one life. Just like the butterfly mutates and adapts to form new colors and varieties, so do we.
EvolveFest is an online festival bringing you the leading teachers, facilitators and role models for a new paradigm of relating. About by Dr. Martha Tara Lee
Surrounded by friends who were sexually inhibited and struck by dire lack of positive conversations around sex and sexuality in Singapore, Dr. Martha Tara Lee set out to make a positive difference in embarking on her doctorate in human sexuality before launching Eros Coaching in 2009. Today, she remains dedicated to working with individuals and couples who wish to lead self-actualised and pleasure-filled lives.
She also holds certificates in counselling, coaching and sex therapy, and her fourth degree – a Masters in Counselling in May 2018. In practice for more than 12 years, she is the only certified sexuality educator and certified sexuality educator supervisor by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) in Singapore.
Often cited in the media, Dr. Lee is the appointed Resident Sexologist for PinkLifestyle.com; as well as Clinical Sexologist for Singapore Cancer Society. She was recognised as one of ‘Top 50 Inspiring Women Under 40′ by Her World in July 2010, and one of ‘Top 100 Inspiring Women’ by CozyCot in March 2011. She has published four books: Love, Sex and Everything In-Between, Orgasmic Yoga, From Princess to Queen and {Un}Inhibited.
Martha works with individuals and couples in private coaching sessions, and conducts her own workshops. She takes prides in making sure all her workshops are also fun, educational, and sex-positive. This comes easily to her because even though she is extremely dedicated and serious about her work, she fundamentally believes that sex is meant to be fun, wonderful, amazing and sacred.
