Week 37 of 52 LSE – Can You Surrender?

Posted On: September 14, 2014

Welcome to Love, Sex, and Everything in Between! My name is Martha. I am a sexologist and I am playing Goddess Goody Two Shoes. So tune in to find out what I have to say.

Can you surrender? So you know how it’s like when people go to a massage and they are tense and stiff when they are on the massage bed, and as they begin to relax more and more, they feel that their body is melting into the massage bed – that’s surrender.

There is a difference between allowing, receiving and surrendering. What are you good in doing? Allowing? Receiving? Or surrendering? And part of surrendering is a practice to surrendering to life, to people, and just to share with you this little example, I had shingles last year. My best friend Pearly knew that I would be stuck at home for a week and she decided to cook for me some nutritious meals and she did it until 2:30 in the morning.

The next morning, she came to my house and she gave me all these food. I was just so touch. I just didn’t know what to do with it. I just didn’t expect her to prepare all these food for me and it was really out of love. She wanted to take care of me and I found that it was really hard to just take all that and just receive it.

I just had to surrender to the love that was coming my way, and it was so nice. So with this love story, I hope it inspires you to think about whether you are just allowing, receiving or surrendering. Allow yourself to begin to be aware of the differences so that you can truly begin to surrender.
