Passionate People – Interview with Nutritionist Vivianna Wou

Posted On: April 10, 2015

This month, I decided to interview and feature Vivianna Wou after one consultation with her about my chronic fatigue and frequent stomache bloatedness. I found her to listen deeply, care a lot about her clients and her work. I know more of us could do with professionalism with compassion!

1) Tell us about yourself.

I food advisoryam the Principal Nutritionist with Food Advisory Group, a Nutrition Clinic specialising in diet planning and nutritional programmes to target various health concerns.

Food Advisory Group was established in 2009 and today we have a clinic in the central town at scotts road, with a retail front that sells carefully handpicked health products with a very competitive prices and selections. Most of our supplements are of professional standards for professional dispensing only with a high quality standards.

We believe in selling good, interesting and effective products, very different from other health food stores.

My hobbies are golf, I work out 3 times per week in a gym, and I do yoga or Pilate if the classes fit in my schedule. I love to chill out with friends over good dinner and checking out new food diners. I love to travel when I can.

2) Why do you do what you do?

I study Nutrition because I’m keen in health, identifying the different between myths and facts plus I love to cook so the Food Science and Nutrition degree has helped me a lot in my passion.

3) What are the most common issues clients come and see you for?

There are different types of health issues and we normally recommend a nutritional consultation first, we also recommend health screening/blood tests if needed. Following that we would normally adjust or suggest any change on their diet to improve on their existing health conditions.

4) Do you have any advice for people who know very little about nutrition?

Google is very helpful but everyone is different. One man’s food is another’s poison, so do not diagnose your own health condition, leave it to the professional to provide their expertise, it doesn’t cost much to get a proper advice than following blindly on internet or pseudo-science to create more complications unnecessarily.

5) What are your future plans?

I may write a book on nutrition, and we are expanding to recruit more nutritionist/dietician and other health practitioners to our team.
