How Soon Can I Get Tested for STIs After Unprotected Sex?

Posted On: August 10, 2019

We like to think we are always responsible for our bodies and sexual health and take the necessary precautions e.g. protected sex – but being humans, we might not always do the “right thing”.

Or we may have been the unfortunate recipient of rape/ assault/ “stealthing” – a despicable sexual act where a person with a penis takes off the condom halfway through the sexual act.

I am sorry about any stress you’re going through and I hope you can get the emotional support you required. I am resharing this infographic because there is a lot of anxiety and stress around exposure to possible STI (sexually transmitted infections). When can you get tested for STIs? When will the STI show up? I hope this at a glance infographic supports you even though I didn’t create it.

About Dr. Martha Tara Lee

Today, she remains dedicated to working with individuals and couples who wish to lead self-actualised and pleasure-filled lives.

Often cited in the local media, Dr. Lee is the appointed sex expert for Men’s Health Singapore, and Men’s Health Malaysia. She was recognised as one of ‘Top 50 Inspiring Women Under 40′ by Her World in July 2010, and one of ‘Top 100 Inspiring Women’ by CozyCot in March 2011.
