About Body Love Workshop

Do you love your body – 100%? If not really, do you wish you did?

First coined by the Austrian neurologist and psychoanalyst Paul Schilder, body image refers to a person’s feelings of the aesthetics or sexual attractiveness of their own body, which may be forced onto them by others or social media.

As we go through the different life stages, our body changes, so can our self-image. Our relationship with our body is a changing one, and one which we should have a good one with. We probably all know that developing a positive body image and a healthy mental attitude is crucial to our happiness and wellness. The age-old question is how?

This workshop will:

  • Create a safe space in which you feel comfortable to open and share whatever you like with the group.
  • Explore and discuss the personal relationship we have our bodies.
  • Bring you through deep exercises guiding you to more self-acceptance, appreciation and self-love of your body.

Come with an open mind, soft heart, and a willingness to go deeper. This is a clothes-on workshop with one mirror exercise. All emotions and tears are welcomed.

Testimonials

“It is one of the most reflective and amazing workshop I’ve ever attended! At the first segment, I need to talk about my childhood experiences with my Body. At the second segment, I need to look right in front of the mirror, to body talk about each part of my body! By doing so, it helps me realise that How I see n regard my body is Very much related to my childhood experiences! I used to be very plump as a child, now that I’ve lost weight as an adult, I still see myself as fat n ugly. It makes me realise how much I’ve been judging my body and looking down on myself due to the concept of how I think/ believe I should look as a woman! Attending this Body Love workshop, demonstrates to me it is Time to fully adore n appreciate every part and every cells of my body! And if I can love my Body for what it is, my sense of self-worth and self-esteem will keep increasing!” – Arakah, 19 Dec 2015

“Martha’s honest and truthful sharing. Her no judgmental presence makes me feel safe and secure to share my personal feelings.” – Anonymous, 4 June 2015

“Body love workshop help me to bring about more awareness to my body, as I usually takes it for granted. It bring me to understand and appreciate my body more and learn to treasure it, this built up my confidence and become more humble for having a healthy body.” – Anonymous, 20 May 2015

“Body love taught me to look at my body in a new light. It revealed my insecurities and helped me work towards a healthy relationship with my body! I would highly recommend it to all women young and old. Martha conducted the session in a fun and engaging manner. As we worked through our insecurities we also learned to support our fellow sisters in appreciating their beauty and presence in this universe:) Thank you Martha.” – Anonymous, 7 April 2015
