Book Review: Sex Without Stress by Jessa Zimmerman

Posted On: April 8, 2023

Sex Without StressI recently read Sex Without Stress by Jessa Zimmerman and I was pleasantly surprised. This book is an absolute must-read for any sexologist. It offers a comprehensive look at how to reduce stress and anxiety around sex, while also providing practical advice on how to make sex more enjoyable.

The book starts off by discussing the importance of understanding our own sexual needs and desires, as well as how to create a safe and comfortable environment for sexual exploration. It then dives into topics such as communication, pleasure, and intimacy. Each chapter provides case studies for relatability, helpful tips and exercises to help readers explore their own sexuality in a healthy way.

One of the things I appreciated most about this book was its focus on pleasure. Zimmerman emphasizes that sex should be enjoyable, not just a means to an end. She provides helpful information on how to create an environment that is conducive to pleasure, such as setting boundaries, exploring fantasies, and using lubricants.

Overall, I highly recommend Sex Without Stress for any sexologist looking for a comprehensive guide to reducing stress and anxiety around sex. The book is written in an accessible and easy-to-understand way, making it an ideal resource for both professionals and laypeople alike.
